The Patriots inked sixth-round long snapper Jake Ingram to a contract on Wednesday, leaving third-round linebacker Tyrone McKenzie — who will miss all of the 2009 season with a torn ACL — as the team's only unsigned draft pick. Terms of Ingram's deal were not disclosed.

Ingram started his collegiate playing career as a walk-on defensive end at Hawaii in 2005, but he switched to long snapper during his fourth game and quickly found success. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound lineman was taken 198th overall in the NFL draft and was the only long snapper to be selected.

To make room for Ingram on the roster, the Patriots released defensive back Jamar Love, who signed with New England on April 30th as an undrafted free agent.
