Staring elimination in the face, the Peabody Western (Mass.) Little League team stormed back to top Lincoln (R.I.) to advance to Williamsport, Pa., for the Little League World Series.

Peabody will represent New England in the tournament.

Lincoln took a lead in the top of the sixth against the undefeated Peabody team. Lincoln's only loss came against Peabody.

The kids from Peabody came back in a big way, however, in the bottom of the final frame. With the bases loaded, Matt Correale walked to drive in the tying run. Then stepped in heavy hitter Matt Hossman, who homered twice and drove in six runs in the quarterfinals against Glastonbury (Conn.).

Hossman wasted no time in seizing the dramatic moment, sending the first pitch of his at-bat deep over the left-center field fence for a walk-off grand slam. Peabody needed just one run, but Hossman provided four.

Peabody's Sean McGrath hit a two-run homer in the fifth to tie the game at six before Lincoln took the lead in the sixth.

The 11-7 win sends Peabody to Williamsport, Pa., where it will face the team from San Antonio on Friday.
