The quest to find the greatest Bruins game in NESN history continues with another epic matchup featuring two memorable postseason affairs in the Hub's history.
Rosie Ruzicka's playoff performance for the ages in Game 2 of the 1991 conference finals takes on the chaotic atmosphere of the Garden from Game 6 of the conference quarterfinals in 2008 when the Bruins' offensive outburst in the third period led to a win over the Canadiens.
Ruzicka had a part in each of the Bruins' five goals in the thrilling overtime win against the Penguins on May 3, 1991. With the game-winning goal in overtime and four assists to go along with his storybook night, Ruzicka helped the Bruins jump out to a 2-0 series lead in the conference finals.
On April 19, 2008, the Bruins overcame three one-goal deficits to stave off elimination at home. Marco Sturm scored with 2:37 left in the third period to bring the Garden crowd to its feet, creating a chaotic scene not seen since the original Garden stood on Causeway Street.
