Agent Scott Boras Comparing Matt Holliday to Mark Teixeira The World Series hasn’t even begun yet, but super agent Scott Boras is already giving general managers their annual migraines.

Boras, the most hated man in the game by baseball purists, is comparing free agent Matt Holliday to one of the richest men in baseball, Mark Teixeira, the Los Angeles Times reports.

“These guys are blue-collar superstars,” Boras told the newspaper. “They don’t hit 50 home runs, but they’re complete players. They can give you something without swinging a bat.”

Boras got the Yankees to dish out $180 million for Teixeira last offseason and his $22.5 million per year is the fifth highest annual salary in the history of the game. Although Boras has yet to release Holliday’s price tag to the public, the 29-year-old left fielder is likely to be this year’s free agent class’ chips leader when all is said and done.

“There are differences between hitters and complete players,” Boras added. “Matt Holliday is a complete player. There is, frankly, no one like him in the market.”
