The Red Sox have reportedly made the first of what is expected to be many moves in the Jason Bay sweepstakes.

Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman reports that the team is willing to offer the left fielder $15 million annually over four seasons to return to Boston. Bay became a free agent after making $7.5 million in his final contract year where he hit .267 with career highs in homers (36) and RBIs (119).

The San Francisco Giants and New York Mets are expected to make a run at Bay in the near future as well.
