Rumors swirled all day on Wednesday that the Celtics had attempted to work out a trade for the New York Knicks’ Nate Robinson. Those rumors have since been dispelled, but NESN insider Dana Barros thinks Robinson could have served as a perfect backup for Rajon Rondo.
“[The Celtics] have one of the most exciting young point guards in the league,” Barros told John Chandler on Wednesday’s edition of SportsDesk. “If he’s willing to come in and play behind him and play that role, I think it’s a great pickup.”
Barros also discusses Kevin Garnett‘s chances of returning for Friday’s game against Portland.
