Doc Rivers Shoots Down Nate Robinson Rumors Just as soon as Celtics fans began entertaining the thought of Nate Robinson in green, Doc Rivers is saying "not so fast."

"I've been amazed that when a name pops up how much it can catch on with people," the coach told the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy.

A source also told the Herald earlier in the day that the Knicks wanted more than the Celtics were willing to give. That same source said the two teams spoke earlier in the season, but no deal could be reached.

"Everybody talked to [Knicks general manager] Donnie Walsh at some point this year about [Robinson], because he wasn’t playing," Rivers said, referring to the 14-game stretch in December for which Robinson was benched by head coach Mike D'Antoni.
