The Patriots are already dealing with the loss of one star receiver in Wes Welker, so the last thing they would need is to lose Randy Moss, who was absent at the beginning of the team's Friday practice, according to NESN insider Mike Reiss.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick told reporters that Moss' absence was not injury related, according to Boston.com.

Moss has missed a number of Wednesday practices this season for what were described as non-injury related reasons. Moss was not on the team's injury report on Thursday, though the Boston Herald's Ian Rapoport reported that the receiver was seen limping through the locker room this week.
