Richard Seymour Rules Out Return to New England

After getting bulldozed by Ray Rice, Willis McGahee and the Baltimore offensive line on Sunday, the Patriots probably wouldn't mind having Richard Seymour back on their defensive line (though he and the Raiders were terrorized by the same crew just a week earlier). That possibility doesn't exist, however, as Seymour made clear this week.

Seymour, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, told CSNNE.com that he won't be calling Foxborough his home again.

"There's probably about 31 teams I'd consider going to," Seymour told the Web site, saying he was unhappy with the way his tenure as a Patriot came to an abrupt end.

"But there's no ill will," he added. "I wish them the best. I really mean that. … I think it could have ended in a more respectful way, but that's just my personal opinion."

Seymour, 30, recorded a pair of sacks in Oakland's season opener just days after being traded from New England for a 2011 first-round pick. He would record just two more for the rest of the season though, finishing with 47 total tackles and one forced fumble.
