Bruins captain Zdeno Chara has been playing with a dislocated pinkie finger for over two months, ESPN.com's Matt Kalman reports.

The injured left pinkie will likely require surgery this upcoming offseason, which is more than two months away. The captain had been playing with a splint on his hand until recently.

According to the report, the injury occurred in a win at Buffalo on Nov. 20 when he was hit from behind and into the boards. Chara told ESPN.com that an MRI revealed that "it was all torn up."

Chara has just four goals and 25 assists this season to go with a plus-5 rating.
