Spring training has yet to begin, but that won’t stop sports books from cashing in on the hopes and dreams of the fans of all 30 teams.

With the betting lines beginning to be released, the New York Yankees are the early favorites, opening at 3-1 odds. The Red Sox are behind their biggest rivals, just ahead of the Phillies. Both teams opened at identical 13-2 lines, but the Red Sox are now down to 11-2, while Philadelphia also inched downward to 6-1.

The Cardinals (8-1) and Dodgers (9-1) are the next two teams Vegas sees as potential champs.  The Angels, who knocked the Red Sox out of last season’s playoffs opened at 17-2 but have dropped behind St. Louis and their cross-town rival and now sit at 14-1.

If you happen to be heading out to Nevada anytime soon and want to take a flier on a big underdog, you will have a handful to choose from. The biggest long shots to raise the Commissioner’s Trophy in October are the Padres, Nationals and Indians. All of them are sitting at 200-1, though Charlie Sheen could probably tell you a little something about betting against the Tribe as long shots.
