Bill Belichick Offers Glowing Review of Quarterback Tim Tebow For whatever reason, the idea of the Patriots drafting Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in April's draft is a conversation that has gained steam in New England over the past month or two.

It's a thought that doesn't entirely make sense, both because the Patriots are fairly set at quarterback for a few years and the fact that Tebow may not have the tools necessary to succeed in the NFL.

Regardless, talks have persisted. After the praise that Bill Belichick heaped onto the 22-year-old on Tuesday, they'll likely continue.

"Great career, great player," Belichick said at the NFL owner meetings on Tuesday, according to CSNNE.com's Tom E. Curran. "I think it's obvious within the last six weeks his mechanics [are being worked on] and they've improved, which is a credit to him. He's really coachable and he works very hard. I'm sure that whatever he feels he needs to do he'll work very hard at, whatever that is. Athletically, he tested very well at the combine which you can see on the field."

Though Tebow's throwing mechanics and pocket presence have served as the targets for endless scrutiny over the past few months, Belichick seemed impressed with Tebow's ability to win.

"I don't know what a team would do with him, but he's a really interesting player," Belichick said. "He's had a great career. It speaks for itself. Second-leading passer in SEC history. Tremendous production. [The Gators] hardly ever lose. There's a lot to like.

"My sense of Tim Tebow is, if you asked him to play [nose tackle], he'd play nose," Belichick added. "I think he's that kind of kid. Whatever you asked him to do, he'd do."

The Patriots are all set at the nose, but whether they're willing to risk a pick on Tebow is a story that won't go away until April 24.
