Boston Blazer Paul Dawson Getting Sheared for Cancer Research Boston Blazers tough guy Paul Dawson is cutting his mane to fight cancer. The rest of the squad may be next.

On April 2 at 2:30 p.m. at West End Johnnies in Boston, Dawson will donate his long hair to Locks of Love via Friends Place, the patient consultation center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The hair-cutting event is open and free to the public, and it supports the Blazers and the National Lacrosse League’s Black Out Cancer night April 3 at TD Garden.

If Boston fans make a donation to cancer research and the Blazers raise $5,000 before Dawson gets his new ‘do, every player on the team will shave his head.
