The NESN insider dropped by Tuesday’s edition of SportsDesk to talk about the Celtics, a team that can drop a huge game to LeBron James and the Cavaliers one night and then come back and destroy the Pistons the next day.
“I thought that [against the Pistons], they played a great game — I think the inconsistency is the biggest issue, not only in the locker room and in the organization, but also among the fan base,” Barros told NESN’s Jade McCarthy. “We’re all trying to figure out, just as much as they are, why there’s so much inconsistency in their play.”
With just 16 games remaining in the regular season, though, time is running out for the Celtics to solve their problems.
“[The Celtics are] not equipped right now to win in the playoffs,” Barros said, echoing Danny Ainge‘s sentiments from the previous night. “Time is running out, and they’re tinkering and trying to figure out what the deal is. Until that point where they feel comfortable, they’re going to continue to struggle.”
