Members of Red Sox Nation have been spoiled rotten with his exciting plays, dazzling catches and lightning-fast speed since his arrival in 2007.
For baseball fans unable to witness Ellsbury's skills on a nightly basis, the 26-year-old left fielder put his freakish talents on display in a recent Nike shoot.
Ellsbury posted a 38.5-inch vertical leap, which was the exact same height that Gators quarterback Tim Tebow posted at last week's NFL combine. That result would have placed him in a tie for fourth place among running backs as well.
Perhaps his most impressive feat was his 3.94 "5-10-5" agility shuttle, also referred to as the 20-yard shuttle. This shuttle time would have topped the list at last weekend's NFL combine, besting cornerback A.J. Jefferson's top time of 4.00 seconds flat.
Ellsbury also ran a 3.56 30-yard dash, and notched a 65-foot powerball throw.
