Tim Wakefield ‘Very Impressed’ With Eri Yoshida’s Knuckleball

Tim Wakefield 'Very Impressed' With Eri Yoshida's Knuckleball Growing up in Japan, 18-year-old Eri Yoshida was fascinated by Tim Wakefield‘s knuckleball, enough so for her to try to figure out how to throw her own version of the pitch.

Yoshida figured it out, and it worked out for her. In 2008, she was signed to a Japanese team, and this winter, she’s been pitching in the Arizona Winter League.

On Tuesday, though, Yoshida’s young career reached its high point, as she was able to meet her idol at Red Sox camp.
