The Bruins are now in a position very few expected to see them in as Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals approaches.
Thanks to Miroslav Satan‘s double-overtime goal 7:41 into the fifth period, the B’s earned a 3-2 win in Game 4 at the TD Garden and are headed to Buffalo with a 3-1 advantage over the Sabres, just one game away from entrance into the semifinals.
Boston fell behind 2-0 on goals by Tim Kennedy and former Bruin Steve Montador, but David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron each scored in the third to even the score.
Ryan Miller made 36 saves on 39 shots, but he was upstaged for the third straight game by Tuukka Rask, who stopped 35 of 37 shots.
