Jonathan Papelbon, Wife Welcome Birth of Second Child, Gunner Robert

Jonathan Papelbon had a very good reason for missing the Red Sox' games against the Rays at Fenway Park on Saturday.

Papelbon's wife, Ashley, gave birth to 8-pound, 8-ounce Gunner Robert Papelbon, reports. Red Sox officials announced the news in the Boston press box before the continuation of the ninth inning of Friday’s game.

Gunner Robert measured in at 21 inches. He is the couple’s second child and will join 15-month-old sister Parker on the Papelbon family roster.

Earlier this winter, the closer said Gunner Robert didn't have any special significance except being a "badass name." There's still no word if Pap celebrated the birth of his son with dancing.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
