“I thought my time here was done,” said Jonathan Van Every on Sunday.
Well, the Red Sox weren’t finished with him, acquiring the outfielder from the Pittsburgh Pirates to come off the bench for the banged-up team. Van Every is pleased he is back in town and looks forward to contributing.
“I want to get some more wins in this Red Sox uniform,” he said.
“I am here to show up every day. … I’ll do what I can, play hard as I can, to help the team win.”
