Even the Philadelphia fans who booed Santa Claus at Veterans Stadium more than 40 years ago could have a hard time topping Matthew Clemmens' actions at the Nationals-Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, the 21-year-old Cherry Hill, N.J., native vomited on an 11-year-old girl at the game.
Off-duty Easter Police Capt. Michael Vangelo, the girl's father, had never seen anything so repulsive.
"It was the most vile, disgusting thing I've ever seen," Vangelo told the News. "And I've been a cop for 20 years."
According to police, Clemmens harassed Vangelo's party from the start of the game. Clemmens and a friend reportedly cursed, spat and spilled beer on Vangelo, his two daughters and their friend before security officials escorted Clemmens' friend from the game.
Vangelo managed to restrain himself during the ordeal.
"I kept thinking, 'If I get arrested, my kids will be alone here,'" Vangelo told the News.
Once Clemmens' friend was ejected, the 21-year-old took his harassment to the next level by jamming his fingers down his throat and vomiting on the 11-year-old girl.
"I was just a dad with my kids enjoying a game," Vangelo said. "I never experienced anything like that before."
The South Jersey native followed up his performance by hitting Vangelo in the head repeatedly before fans stepped in to restrain Clemmens.
Clemmens has been charged with 15 counts of different offenses, including aggravated assault, harassment and resisting arrest. The South Jersey native is being held on $36,000 bail.
