According to WEEI.com’s Christopher Price, ex-Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez will throw out the first pitch for Sunday night’s season-opening Red Sox-Yankees tilt at Fenway Park.

Martinez pitched for the Red Sox from 1998-2004, compiling a 117-37 record and 2.52 ERA along the way. He won the American League Cy Young Award in both 1999 and 2000.

The 38-year-old Martinez pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009 — going 5-1 in nine regular-season starts — and is currently an unsigned free agent.
