There have been plenty of constants in this Eastern Conference quarterfinal thus far.
Whether it has been the Sabres scoring the first goal in each game or the Bruins staging comebacks, nothing can compare to the the constant calm and collected brilliance of both netminders, Tuukka Rask and Vezina Trophy candidate Ryan Miller.
With his team facing elimination and failing to win despite his steady performance in net (2.26 GAA, .927 save percentage), Miller is understandably frustrated and in a rare moment Friday morning, he let it show.
As his pregame new conference was winding down, it came to an abrupt end when a reporter asked him about the after-effects of such a crushing loss like the 3-2 double overtime loss in Game 4 at Boston Wednesday.
"It's done," Miller quickly snipped.
The reporter persisted and Miller cut him off.
"It’s done. It’s done. It’s done," he said. "We’re on a whole other subject here. You could have asked that [question] first and it would have been good. But we’re on to a whole other thing."
Miller answered one more question and then stormed away as he mumbled expletives under his breath.
Clearly Miller isn't over the Game 4 defeat and isn't the least-bit happy. Who could blame him. Despite him doing everything he can to help his team win, they're still trailing 3-1 in the series.
"It's got to be frustrating for him for sure because we haven't done our job and scored more," said forward Tyler Ennis. "We need to just keep pushing though and realize we're doing a lot of good things and we can come back."
If they don't though, Miller's words might also prove to be prophetic in terms of the series as well, because it, too, will be "done."
