Three members of the national title-winning Boston College men’s hockey team are facing charges following a crash between a Jeep Cherokee and an MBTA Green Line trolley Saturday around midnight, according to TheBostonChannel.com.
Freshman goalie Parker Milner and freshman defensemen Philip Samuelsson and Patrick Wey were three of seven BC students in the Jeep who are facing charges of being minors in possession of alcohol, the Web site said. Milner and two others also allegedly fled the scene of the accident, which took place at the intersection of South and Commonwealth avenues.
The trolley operator told police that the Jeep’s driver, Jane Stanton, 19, pulled in front of him and tried to make a U-turn, leaving him no time to stop. He also said that the three who fled the scene tossed what looked like alcoholic containers before running.
The article said that no one on the trolley was hurt but that three of the Jeep’s occupants were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Samuelsson played in all 42 games for the Eagles this season, recording one goal and 13 assists. Wey tallied five assists in 27 games. Milner started 13 games in net, going 10-2-1 with a 2.32 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
