Celtics guard Nate Robinson was so close to an extra $1 million, he could sniff it.

Robinson was due to make an added $1 million bonus if he both played in at least 58 games and made the playoffs this season, according to ESPN.com. Robinson played in just 56 games meaning the Celtics saved the $1 million they would have had to pay Robinson, who missed nearly the entire month of December, when he was playing in New York.

After the Knicks traded Robinson to the Celtics at the deadline, he would have had to play in every remaining game with the C's to reach 58 games played. Robinson didn't play on April 4 against the Cavaliers and again on April 7 against the Raptors.
