Addressing the media after the Celtics’ Game 6 loss to the Lakers, “Big Baby” was more than willing to step up and help contribute in spite of the Celtics having to play Game 7 without their center Kendrick Perkins.
“I love it, this is what it’s all about,” he said. “This is what you guys are gonna talk about for years, you’re gonna remember this moment.”
Davis wasn’t very worried about his team’s lackluster Game 6 effort carrying over to the winner-take-all Game 7 on Thursday night, saying that his team has simply come too far to go down without a fight.
“We’re here now in spite of what everybody else thinks, so you think we’re just gonna let this go? No, we’ll accept the challenge, we want it…it’s that simple. We could have gave up a long time ago, but no, we’re gonna take it while we’re here.”
