The Celtics only needed a little help from the bench to trump the Lakers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at the TD Garden on Thursday night. But do they have enough juice left to win what has become a best-of-three series against L.A., when two of the games will be played at the Staples Center?
NESN insider Mikey Adams says yes.
“I’m going to have to take that,” Mikey told Cole Wright on Friday’s edition of SportsDesk. “There’s no question that this has been a weird series, as has the entire playoffs for the Celtics when it comes to road games and such. I don’t have any worry at all. They will take it in six.”
In their defining Game 4 effort, bench players Glen Davis and Nate Robinson jokingly dubbed themselves Shrek and Donkey in a postgame news conference — but are those the best nicknames in sports?
Not exactly.
“As Shrek-ish as he is, that Big Baby cat, I have to leave it. Why? Because the best nickname belongs to the llama, Pau Gasol,” Mikey said. “If you’ve ever seen a llama, you’ve seen Pau Gasol.”
