BOSTON — NESN, New England's most watched sports network, is teaming up with the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) for the second consecutive year to help raise money for breast cancer prevention by participating in the 18th Annual Against the Tide fundraiser on June 19th at Hopkinton State Park.

Red Sox studio host Tom Caron, Bruins studio host Kathryn Tappen and Red Sox reporter Heidi Watney will join a team of over 50 NESN co-workers to raise money and awareness for the prevention of breast cancer.

Against the Tide, the MBCC's annual fundraiser now consists of four different events, a competitive or recreational one-mile swim, two-mile kayak, 5k fun run (non-certified) and three-mile walk. Participants can choose to participate in up to three events alongside Team NESN. If fans are unable to participate but would like to support Tom Caron, Kathryn Tappen, Heidi Watney and the rest of Team NESN with a pledge, they can visit NESN.com to find a link to a Team NESN donation page at the MBCC website.

Participants from all over New England commit to raising a minimum contribution of $150, which can be pledged online after registering at http://www.mbcc.org/swim or the minimum donation of $150 can be made on the day of the event in order to participate in the festivities. Participants may enroll in one, two, or three of the events. All funds raised go directly towards breast cancer prevention through the advocacy work of MBCC. Registration materials, sponsor information, and fundraising ideas can be found at http://www.mbcc.org/swim.
