Red Sox Nation Jazzed to Host Dodgers, See Return of Manny Ramirez

Red Sox Nation Jazzed to Host Dodgers, See Return of Manny Ramirez It seems most Red Sox fans are excited to host the Dodgers from June 18-20, no doubt because former Sox star Manny Ramirez will be coming to town.

Sixty-eight percent of respondents to the NESN.com Question of the Day tabbed hosting the Dodgers the most enticing, while 11 percent looked forward to the San Francisco Giants on the road. Hosting the Phillies rounded out the voting with 21 percent.

“Manny coming back is big news,” said Tom Caron on Red Sox Final. “You have to wonder if Manny will play in that series.”

Good point. You never know what injuries are lurking in the hitting savant’s body, and no one would put it past him to avoid having to return to Fenway Park.

Dennis Eckersley then went on a spiel about how unfair it is for American League clubs to have to put the pitcher in the batting order for National League ballparks. He feels that the AL is at more of a disadvantage, as opposed to the NL entering AL ballparks and being able to use a DH.

“I don’t want to see a pitcher hit. I never did,” Eckersley said.
