Children all over South Africa are being given permanent reminders of the World Cup.
The spirit of the tournament has permeated through South Africa so widely that many South African parents have bestowed Cup-themed names on their newborns.
Among the football-flavored names are Fifa, Soccer City and Bafana, to name a few.
"The day will be such an unforgettable one for us not forgetting the little bundles who were born on this historic day," a South African hospital nurse named Rosina Letlao told the Christian Science Monitor, on the opening day of the World Cup.
