The Athletics are going to immortalize Dallas Braden's words to Alex Rodriguez forever — in T-shirt form.
With the Yankees in town, the A's are looking to cash in on the now infamous "Get off my mound" threat that Braden put on Rodriguez during a game in April. Braden was not very happy about A-Rod's decision to run across the mound after jogging back to first base following a foul ball.
Both players say they're over it, but that doesn't mean the A's don't think they can turn a quick buck by taking advantage of the situation.
"It looks like the A's are making light of the situation," Braden said in Monday's San Francisco Chronicle. "In some ways, it might keep what happened alive."
Braden, of course, went on to pitch a perfect game May 9 against the Rays.
Braden and Rodriguez won't have a chance to revisit their budding rivalry, though, in this week's series in Oakland, as Braden is currently on the disabled list.
