The Bruins are nearing a new deal with free agent Mark Stuart, NESN.com has learned.
While terms of the contract have not been fully disclosed, it is believed to be a one-year deal, WEEI.com reports.
The defenseman recently decided not to file for arbitration because he was confident he’d be able to reach an agreement with the Bruins.
Last season, Stuart had two goals, five assists and 80 penalty minutes in 56 games. The season before, he set a career-high with 17 points.
