Luke Scott launched a home run to break a tie in the seventh inning on Wednesday night, but after he made contact, he wasn’t sure it would clear the wall. Running hard to first, Scott came up gimpy as he rounded the bag while the ball sailed over the fence.
It appeared he could fight through what has been diagnosed a pulled hamstring, but Scott gingerly jogged to third and stood on the base for a moment, and then simply walked the final length to home plate. His round-tripper took 35.76 seconds, over five seconds longer than David Ortiz‘s infamous slow home run trot in May.
Scott is already on the DL, and the Orioles are still the worst team in baseball. Injury to insult.
