Maria Menounos Named MVP of Madden NFL Pigskin Pro-Am Maria Menounos is a legitimate two-way player.

Not only did the Access Hollywood hostess, Medford, Mass., native and Boston sports super-fan “sack” future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner in the opening minutes of Sunday’s Madden NFL Pigskin Pro-Am, she scored a touchdown as well.

Maria even thinks she actually scored two and isn’t getting the credit she deserved.

However many points she put up, her performance was outstanding, earning her the Old Spice MVP award.

This was a story of redemption for Menounos, who dropped a potential Joe Montana touchdown pass in last year’s event.

“I was devastated, so this year, I grabbed Joe Montana and told him
that there will be redemption this year. ‘I will catch your pass if it’s
the last thing I do,’ I told him,” said Menounos.

As for getting to Warner, Maria said it was an act of god

“I don’t know how it happened,” she told the Boston Herald. “But it was hard for him to
get away from me. It was like God said to me, ‘You are going to be a
football star today,’ and I was. I caught it every time. I swear I could
have lifted a house that day.”

Confident in the afterglow of her performance, Menounos even said she could fill in for the Pats if Wes Welker can’t go.

“I think I could catch Tom Brady,” asserted Menounos.

Both Blindside star Quinton Aaron and Menounos played in the MLB All-Star celebrity softball game just one month ago, firmly entrenching themselves on the celebrity sports circuit.

After her success, we can probably expect to see her at the NBA Celebrity All-Star game too come January.

“I did it for all the girls who never got passed the ball,” Maria said.

Quote of the Day

“If anyone deserved a no-hitter it was him today. I mean, it really was one of those days you go up to the plate
and really feel like, and I hate to say it, ‘This guy has been making
his pitches all day. What chance do we have right now?'”

Comment of the Day

High expectations loom for a healthy Zdeno Chara.

“Chara’s
got the presence you WANT if you’re a Bruins fan. It’ll pretty much tell
people to not mess around with any of his teammates, or else! His NASTY
slapshot is something I would rather have work FOR us, NOT against us,
thank you very much. Great presence on the blue line. He’s the one who
tells his teammates, both by his stick and, no doubt, his voice, who to
cover in the defensive zone. Does a great job of controlling the
opposing team’s best offensive threat too.”

After the worst tournament of his career, we can agree that it has been a rough downward spiral since Tiger Woods‘ fateful car accident. Nobody is really sure what happened that night, but this Chinese TV show has a few good computer animated reenactments.
