Are you expecting LaDainian Tomlinson to be among the many names listed as potential Jets locker room land mines this year?
A handful of players across the country are.
With the additions of fire starters Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie to a room already containing Braylon Edwards, HBO will certainly get its money's worth in this season's Hard Knocks. In fact, it's very likely that there will be a handful of locker room "hard knocks" as in right and left haymakers.
But according to Chargers players, including quarterback Philip Rivers, LT may be another problem in the NYJ locker room. Last season in San Diego, the running back didn't take too kindly to going from Pro Bowler to Darren Sproles' backup, according to those in the locker room with him.
"That got real touchy the last 18 months," Rivers told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Tomlinson may be in for a rude awakening this season, as second-year stud Shonn Greene is expected to take over the starting role.
"I don’t know how everyone feels or if they felt it," Rivers said at Chargers training camp. "Maybe it was a little bit of a relief. Maybe it’s a feeling of, 'I can do a little more without wondering what he thinks.'"
And Rivers isn't alone.
"Sometimes you would get the sense that people felt bigger than the team," Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates said. "Not to say it was an issue, but we know it’s not an issue for sure now."
