Celtics Should Trade Glen Davis If He Continues to Be a Troublemaker Glen "Big Baby" Davis already has made some noise out of Celtics land this preseason. And it hasn’t been the good kind.

But the Celtics can help Davis understand his role. If the undersized power forward/center wants to keep whining about his place on the team, Danny Ainge should ship Big Baby out of Boston.

Davis is a unique talent, and nobody in the Celtics’ organization wants to see him playing for someone else. However, that might be the only solution if Davis doesn’t start playing nice and grow up.

Davis has had some kind of issue every year since he entered the league in 2007. The Celtics have shown great patience in dealing with all of his shenanigans in the past, but they don’t have time to cater to an overgrown kid anymore.

The East is a beast with the Heat, Bulls and Magic all looking to dethrone the Celtics as conference champs. Boston will need all the ubuntu it can muster to fend off the attacks. The Celtics don’t need any silly controversies to distract from their focus.

Yet that’s exactly what Davis gave them on the first day of camp.

The Celtics aren’t getting any younger. The clock is ticking for Paul Pierce and company to win a championship, and they need a roster that is 100 percent committed to the same goal. One malcontent who is more concerned with his playing time than the team’s ability to play well together isn’t going to help the cause.

Trading Davis might be the best move for the Celtics. With his value high, Boston could fetch a serviceable bench piece that wouldn’t be a headache.

Before taking such a drastic step, the Celtics should sit down and talk with Davis (if they haven’t already) and let him know that mouthing off to the media isn’t good for business. If that doesn’t work, Ainge should start working the phones and look for the best deal for Davis.

Then, Big Crybaby would know his role on the Celtics.

Left out.
