Manny Ramirez was never one to say much to the media, but on Friday, the former Red Sox slugger opened up in an extended conversation, which will air Friday night on NESN Daily at 11 p.m.
One of the most revealing moments of the seven-minute conversation at Fenway Park came when he was asked about his final days in Boston. Ramirez pulled no punches, accepting blame for a divorce that could at best be described as ugly.
"I think everything was my fault," he said. "But hey, you gotta be a real man to realize when you do wrong, and, hey, it was my fault, right?"
Ramirez also said he went out of his way to apologize to Kevin Youkilis. The two had a public spat in the Red Sox' dugout in the summer of '08, shortly before Ramirez was traded to Los Angeles.
NESN's Uri Berengeur was at Fenway to talk with Ramirez. A clip of the conversation can be seen below, but to see the entire discussion, click this link.
