The 2010 Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing like a totally different team than the '09 Bucs.
Last season, the Bucs started their season with seven consecutive losses. They finished it with a 3-13 record. This season, on the other hand, they are 2-0.
That doesn't mean their egos are being inflated by their quick start.
"We've come a long way as a team, just knowing we're 2-0, but nobody is yelling in the locker room,'' running back Cadillac Williams said, according to TampaBayOnline. "It is a sweet start, but the thing I love is that I remember us losing to Dallas last year in the first week and everyone was excited like we won the game because we had more than 400 yards of offense. Stats don't mean nothing in this league. Now we're 2-0 and everyone is telling each other, 'Don't get carried away. It's a long season.'
"To me, that shows a lot of maturity.''
Center Jeff Faine had a similar perspective on the Bucs’ attitude this season.
"It's definitely the way we wanted to start the season,'' Faine told TampaBayOnline. "We're happy about it, but the thing that's very encouraging about this team right now is that we're still focused and we're not content. We had a victory Monday and more than half the team showed up to work out. There's something to be said about that. We had a normal flight home from Charlotte last night — nothing over the top. It's like the old saying … act like you've been there before.''
Week 3 will be the test for the Bucs as they try to keep a clear head and hand a loss to the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers.
