It didn’t take long for Alex Ovechkin to score his seventh goal of the season.  It came just 12 seconds after his sixth goal.

In Saturday’s matchup against the Calgary Flames,  Ovechkin scored on a 5-on-3 off a pass from Mike Green. Then, on the 5-on-4, Ovechkin scored again, this time with Alexander Semin getting the main assist.

Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff never had much of a chance. On Ovechkin’s first goal, Kiprusoff was on the other side of the net, expecting the shot from Green. The second goal was a wrist shot that beat Kiprusoff on the far side.

Ovie’s two goals tied the game and began Washington’s ultimate rout of the Flames. The Capitals went on to score five more goals, including a third power play goal, beating Calgary 7-2.
