FOXBORO, Mass. –- The Patriots sent Randy Moss to Minnesota with their best wishes, and his former teammates said they’d be rooting for him almost every week.
That will never be truer than Monday night, when Moss’ Vikings visit the AFC East-leading Jets.
The Patriots –- who host the Vikings on Halloween -– and Jets are each 3-1, but New York holds the division tiebreaker over the Pats due to their Week 2 victory at the New Meadowlands. Obviously, the Patriots would be rooting for the Vikings on Monday anyway, but Moss’ presence in the nationally televised contest will increase New England’s viewing audience.
Moss’ former New England teammates spoke highly of him after the trade, and they’ll be waiving the Vikings’ pompoms Monday.
"That would be nice if he could help get us back in first," Patriots linebacker Tully Banta-Cain said. "Like I said, we’ll be rooting for him."
