NESN Vault Honors Bill Russell’s Medal of Freedom Nomination

On Nov. 17, President Obama announced that Bill Russell will receive the Medal of Freedom in January, the highest civilian honor.

Russell has been an influential human rights activist and led the Celtics to 11 championships in 13 years.
