After a season apart down in Florida, the Red Sox will meet the New York Yankees in spring training 2011.

Boston’s Grapefruit League schedule, which was released Tuesday, features two games against the Bronx Bombers, one at each team’s home park. The rivals did not play in 2010. It ends with a pair of contests against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston on March 30 and 31.

The slate opens up with the traditional doubleheader against Boston College and Northeastern at City of Palms Park on Feb. 26. The major league portion of the exhibition schedule begins the following day with the first of three straight against the Minnesota Twins, the Sox’ crosstown rival in Fort Myers.

Boston and Minnesota meet five times in all in their annual question for the Mayor’s Cup.

The Sox will host a total of 17 games at City of Palms Park, including the BC-Northeastern double dip. The Philadelphia Phillies make one visit to Fort Myers.  Boston also meets four times overall with defending American League East champ Tampa Bay.
