Sandy Alderson Says Mets Will Fill Manager Spot by Thanksgiving The New York Mets acted quickly to fill their front office with established executives like Sandy Alderson, J.P. Ricciardi and Paul DePodesta. But now, it’s time to fill the void in the dugout.

Alderson, the Mets’ new general manager, has been conducting first-round interviews for the team’s managerial position and plans on having the position filled by Thanksgiving, according to NJ.com.

Cardinals third base coach Jose Oquendo was the latest to interview for the job, but there are several other viable candidates, including Terry Collins, Bob Melvin and Chip Hale.

Alderson and his staff plan to conduct the second round of interviews in the upcoming week at the GM meetings in Orlando, Fla.
