Liverpool's young Spanish striker Daniel Pacheco is thrilled to have signed a contract keeping him at Anfield until 2014, but the new deal does not rule out the possibility of going out on loan.
Roy Hodgson has kept Pacheco as a regular throughout the Europa League matches and will be featured in Wednesday night's final Group K encounter with Utrecht at Anfield. And now, Pacheco is inked with the Reds for quite some time following his recent contract signing.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new deal," Pacheco, who turns 20 next month, told Spanish journalist Guillem Balague. "I'm being sincere when I say that I see my future here, I'd like it to be so."
After talking with Damien Comolli, Liverpool's director of football strategy, he was told that he has the ability to lead the team.
"I had talks with Damien Comolli when signing a new contract and he told me that young players like myself and Martin Kelly are central to his vision for the club," Pacheco told Balague.
Pacheco is most concerned about playing time and hasn’t ruled out a loan, he says, which might work out best for the team.
"But in order to get some playing time, and if it suits the club, the best thing would be for me to go out on loan," he said.
"However, we will have to see how things stand in January and if the club are in agreement, then a loan move might be best for everyone."
