Report: Fourth Red Sox Player in Adrian Gonzalez Trade Likely to Be ‘Secondary Prospect’

Red Sox fans are happy to see that the Red Sox didn’t deal any frontline players to the Padres for Adrian Gonzalez, but there’s still the issue of the unnamed fourth player who will be sent packing.

If ESPN’s Buster Olney is correct, Red Sox Nation won’t have anything to worry about.

According to a Monday morning tweet by Olney, the fourth player is “considered to be a secondary prospect.”

With Casey Kelly, Anthony Rizzo and Reymond Fuentes — three of the team’s top prospects — already being dealt, the fourth player heading to San Diego is unlikely to be a big name. That will make the Adrian Gonzalez deal even sweeter for Boston.
