Report: Red Sox Not Moving In Right-Field Fence

It looks like the Red Sox will have to “get by” with their lineup heavy of lefty sluggers this upcoming season in a Fenway Park with the same old dimensions it’s had for years.

According to WEEI.com, the Red Sox will not be moving in the right-field fence for the 2011 season. When the team announced its renovations to the ballpark in October, there were talks of the right-field fence being moved in. According to the report, however, the Sox have recently withdrawn their request to the Massachusetts Secretary of State to do so.

The reported change would have brought the fences in about 10 feet, while simultaneously widening one of the smallest bullpens in the game.
