Report: Tom Cable Unlikely to Return as Raiders Head Coach

Despite going 8-8 with an undefeated division record, Tom Cable probably won’t be back on the Raiders sideline next year.

According to ESPN.com, it is unlikely that the head coach will be back in 2011.

Cable and the Raiders dispatched the division-champion Chiefs on Sunday, capping off an 8-8 season for the black and silver, their best campaign since the 2002 season, which they went 11-5 en route to a Super Bowl appearance.

If Cable’s tenure in Oakland is indeed finished, he will end with a 17-27 record over three seasons.
