Carl Crawford is coming off a season where he earned his first Silver Slugger award, but in 2011, he'll be looking for his first batting title.
Crawford sat down with NESN's Peter Gammons and Tom Caron to discuss his offensive potential now that he's playing in Fenway Park, and the speedy outfielder said he's looking forward to the opportunity to hit against the Green Monster on a regular basis.
"I've always wanted to win a batting title," Crawford said. "I'm a speed guy, so I know I don't hit many home runs but coming to Fenway is definitely a good chance. You can shoot for it with that wall there, you can get a bunch of base hits that way.
"We'll just have to see," he added. "I definitely will be shooting for it, I'll try to get those averages as high as I can and play the best I can."
