American businessmen Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr., former owners of Liverpool, are looking to sue over the sale of the Reds to the owners of the Boston Red Sox.

According to SportsIllustrated.com, a British judge is set to decide Thursday whether or not the legal action can take place in the United States. Gillett Jr. and Hicks are calling out Liverpool directors and the team’s lenders, alleging that an "epic swindle" took place which allowed New England Sports Ventures to purchase the club for a reduced price of $476 million.

The pair is looking to eliminate a ruling that prevented them from seeking damages outside of the European Union.

The Guardian reports that an anti-suit was put in place, supposedly thwarting Hicks from stopping the sale from taking place in Texas courts.
