It was a whirlwind spring training for the 1958 Red Sox, who flew to the West Coast for an exhibition game with the new-look Giants and Dodgers, who both packed up shop in New York over the offseason to relocate to sunny California.
Hollywood star Jerry Lewis, who had just wrapped up filming Rock-A-Bye Baby and was in the midst of filming The Geisha Boy, was able to make time to take some grounders and play catch with members of the Sox. Former Sox legends Harry Hooper and Joe Cronin welcome the Sox to San Fransisco, as seen in the video above.
