Report: Mike Bibby Heading to Miami, Heat Also May Be 'Front-Runners' To Land Troy Murphy Miami is turning up the heat in its pursuit of potential buyout candidates.

After agreeing to a buyout with the Washington Wizards, veteran point guard Mike Bibby, who gave up his entire salary for next season to help facilitate the buyout, is on his way to the Miami Heat, reports Chris Broussard of ESPN.

The 32-year-old left $6.2 million on the table, which he was set to make for the 2011-12 season.

"He sacrificed some money in order to win a championship," Bibby's agent, David Falk, said in a statement to ESPN. "Once you're past 10, 11 years in the league, you want to be in a situation where you can win. He's got some attractive options open to him."

Falk, however, has maintained that nothing has been finalized, and nothing can be done until Bibby clears waivers on Wednesday.

"I've been in touch with six or seven of the top teams," Falk said. "Nothing can be done until he clears waivers."

The veteran point guard was also linked to the Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers after agreeing to the buyout.

Broussard is also reporting that his source has suggested Miami as the "front-runner" for Troy Murphy.

With the buyout, Washington's payroll will drop to roughly $38 million ($20 million below the current cap), giving them plenty of flexibility to make offseason moves.
